Pejovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, received his Ph.D. Degree from the
University of Belgrade, and served in various positions including as Professor
for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, chair for Hydraulic Machines and
Energy Systems, Fac. of Mech. Eng., and Head of Hydraulic Energy Dept, and
Chair and Member of Board of Institute of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Pejovic
has served as Principal Investigator and Project Manager, Department of
Mechanics, Mathematical Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, in
Belgrade. Dr. Pejovic has been teaching at the University of Toronto and
Ryerson University since 2002, lecturing on specialized subjects related to
energy, design of power plants, thermodynamics, physics, fluid mechanics, and
hydraulic transient analysis (waterhammer, vibrations, hydraulic vibrations,
stability, resonance in technical systems and human blood vessels). He has also
been Visiting Professor at the University of Singapore, Hong Kong, Sarajevo and
Skopje, Nis, to name a few. His more than 200 publications have been referred
in more than 250 articles and books.
In February 2016 Prof. Pejovic was nominated as independent Expert, by
the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in an Arbitration Dispute
Resolution (ADR). He was mandated to provide an Independent Expert Report to
the Arbitral Tribunal

to honour his work and stir up interest for Physical and Mathematical
instabilities. (http://iopscience.iop.org/1755-1315/22/4)
Prof.
Pejovic specializes in research, development, design, construction,
commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and review of electric plants,
hydraulic systems, pumps and turbines as well as the complex thermal and
nuclear plant systems. He is the author of several books and text books on
vibrations, hydraulic transients, White Paper on Hydro Energy Storage, and a
co-author of "The Guide to Hydropower Mechanical Design", prepared by
ASME Hydro Power Technical Committee, as well as "Guidelines to Hydraulic
Transient Analysis". A consulting engineer on design, construction,
on-site and model tests of power plants and computer simulation of transient
and hydraulic vibration of many systems, Dr. Pejovic has been involved in
troubleshooting in the US, Indonesia, Canada, Iran, and the former Yugoslavia.
Today, Dr. Pejovic is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of
Ontario.
Supported
by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Prof. Pejovic spent two years in Germany

[1] Based on the model test result and analysis of hydraulic system in frequency domain some unknown phenomena of draft tube surges are discovered and explained in the article published in the journal. Pejovic S., Understanding the Effects of Draft Tube Vortex Core Resonance, Hydro Review Worldwide, HCI Publications, September 2000, pp. 28.
[2] On the same topic, the paper was presented on XXI IAHR [International Association for Hydraulic Research] Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems: Pejovic S., Troubleshooting of turbine vortex core resonance and air introduction into the draft tube, IAHR Symposium, Lausanne, Switzerland, 2002
